Chances of a Maruti Baleno Sport variant are very high, considering that it’s a global hatchback positioned above the Swift. Artist Theophilus Chin has envisioned the sportier variant through a set of renderings.
The Baleno Sport, if created, would wear a more aggressive front bumper with sharp elements. It’s safe to assume that the designers would throw in a dash of chrome for the foglight enclosures.
Profile of the hatchback would feature aerodynamic skirts, contrast wing mirror caps and large alloy wheels with exclusive design. As seen, the artist took some liberty to add sleek chrome finished side molding on the doors.
If the Baleno Sport enters production, it would get tweaked suspension and engine to offer better driving experience.The chrome lower lip for the rear windshield and the diffuser with dual exhaust tips are spot on too. While the enhancements are not very loud, they work together to uplift the car’s sportiness. The interiors would also be undergoing considerable enhancements like a new color theme, sports seats upfront, etc.
If the Swift Sport can be taken as a yardstick, the Baleno Sport would not be a mere cosmetic exercise. The hatchback would receive stiffened suspension, sharpened steering system, upgraded brakes and possibly more power.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has been depriving its Swift loyalists of the Sport variant due to cost equations but it is expected to change for the Baleno Sport since India is its lone manufacturing base.
