Maruti Celerio hatchback on YouTube, 23.1 kmpl mileage and test drives on
Maruti Suzuki India has officially released 8 new ads on YouTube highlighting the exciting new features of their new hatchback, Celerio. Maruti Celerio with India’s first AMT drive system will be launched at the Delhi Auto Expo on 5th Feb 2014.
From the videos and brochures of Celerio, it is revealed that it will deliver a mileage of 23.1 kmpl (ARAI certified). Promotions and bookings have commenced and like every other small car from Maruti Suzuki, the Celerio has also rustled up a fair amount of attention prior to its debut at the 2014 Auto Expo.
Maruti Celerio will be available in three trim levels – Lxi, Vxi and Zxi and while the Lxi and Vxi are either manual or semi automatic, the top end trim Zxi will be available with only manual gearbox. Engine details remain the same as seen on board Wagon R with a 998cc, three cylinder petrol engine developing peak output of 68 PS at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 90 Nm at 3,500 rpm. Celerio may also get an 800cc diesel sometime later.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio, measuring 3600mm in length, 1600mm in width and sitting on a wheelbase measuring 2425mm will compete with the Hyundai i10 as far as price is concerned. But considering the features and Maruti’s name-tag it carries, the Celerio is good enough to compete with Hyundai’s new Grand i10 hatchback. Celerio is expected to come in with a base price tag of INR 3.8 lakhs going upto INR 4.9 lakhs for the top trim variant.
Replacing Maruti A Star, the new Celerio weighing 830 kgs features India’s first AMT – Automated Manual Transmission technology called EZ Drive.
