Maruti Celerio was introduced and officially launched at 2014 Auto Expo earlier this month. This model is actually a next generation A Star designed to take the place of the lack luster A Star while slow selling Estilo will also meet the same fate.
Both A Star and Estilo have been pulled off production line following Celerio’s launch and a clear indication is given on the company’s official website wherein details of these to older models fail to appear in the Range of Cars list.
Celerio being Maruti Suzuki’s new B segment hatchback will take the place of A Star, which was launched in India in November 2008 while an AT variant was added later. Estilo which was originally launched as the Zen Estilo in India has also been receiving poor response with the company selling just 750 Estilo’s and 600 units of A Star per month approximately in the period January to December 2013. Though discontinued, the parts will be available for the next 8-10 years as per company policy.
