As per these new documents leaked, Maruti is going to market CIAZ as C – Comfort, I – Intelligence, A – Attitude, and Z – Zeal. Over these four pillars, the staff which will handle premium customers, are getting trained as you read this (see image above). Considering that Maruti Suzuki dealers and their staff are not experienced enough in handling premium customers, this set of new information as seen in the scans below, is expected them to overcome the queries from buyers who walk into the showroom.

Maruti Ciaz is expected to be launched in the first half of October. While earlier reports claimed the launch date to be 10th October, new reports have claimed the date to be 6th October. Maruti Suzuki has not revealed any dates yet for the launch of new Ciaz, their most premium offering. Set to replace the existing SX4 sedan, Ciaz is built on a new platform, which is not only lightweight, but also delivers more interior space, adding to the premium value of the car.

To be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options, Maruti aims to counter Honda City and Hyundai Verna, with their new Ciaz. Together, the City and Verna capture 2/3rd of the segment (about 11,000 units every month), while the other 1/3rd belongs to the likes of Nissan Sunny, Renault Scala, Toyota Etios, Maruti SX4, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and Ford Fiesta.

Maruti Ciaz variants featuresFrom the brochure of Ciaz, it is clear that Maruti has benchmarked their new sedan against Honda City, which sells about 7,500 units every month. Maruti claims that Ciaz offers more space, features, and fuel efficiency, as compared to any other car in the segment. To be offered in 8 trims (4 diesel, 4 petrol), Ciaz offers Bluetooth, rear AC vents, electric boot opener, USB audio system, keyless entry, projector headlamps, front and rear 12V charging sockets, electric ORVMs, and glass antenna as standard across all variants.

As far as price is concerned, Maruti is expected to price Ciaz aggressively, with a starting price of about Rs 7 lakhs for petrol variant and a Rs 8 lakh base price tag for the diesel variant. Official price will only be revealed on launch date.
