Maruti Ciaz production crosses 9,000 units before launchThe new SX4 replacement sedan, is expected to launch by mid October. To be offered at a price range of INR. 7 lakhs to 10 lakhs, company dealers across the country have already opened bookings of new Ciaz. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is expected to be a game changer for the company who is once again trying to compete with segment leader Honda City. To be presented in both petrol and diesel engine options, Maruti claims Ciaz diesel is the most fuel efficient car in India, while petrol Ciaz is has a best in class mileage claim.

Ciaz petrol variant offering 20.73 kmpl while the diesel variant is predicted to give 26.21 kmpl. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will receive a 1.4 liter K Series engine which is also seen on board the Ertiga, capable of 91 bhp power and 130 Nm torque. 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet diesel engine returns 89 bhp power while both engines are mated to five speed manual transmissions while the petrol engine will also expected to receive a 4 speed auto.

Once launched in India,Maruti Ciaz which is to receive four trim levels V, V+, Z and Z+. It will compete with Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the Volkswagen Vento. Maruti has paid close attention to on board comforts thus making the Ciaz one of the most spacious cars in its class. Front seats are large while driver seat has back support. Rear seats are comfortable with sufficient leg and shoulder room while feeling of airiness and space pervades the entire cabin which receives plenty of storage space.

Maruti Suzuki has ensured that the Ciaz delivers everything that a buyer in the segment would demand, be it size, space, features and performance, thus ensuring that the Ciaz is a success. But only time will tell if Ciaz stands against the likes of Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
