Ciaz, the upcoming new sedan from Maruti Suzuki, has been spotted on test once again in Gurgaon. Espied on a number of occasions in the past, the car is based on the Suzuki Authentics concept, which was showcased at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz was in camouflage when spied in Gurgaon undergoing tests. The company has not revealed any production plans, but the Ciaz is scheduled for launch later this year as it comes in to take the place of under-performing SX4. Sporting a sleek exterior design and well defined interiors, the Ciaz is expected to come in with a 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine or a 1.4 liter K Series petrol engine currently doing duty on board the Ertiga. Ciaz will also get automated manual transmission technology following its success on board the new Celerio.
Pitted against Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento, the new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will come in with a slew of safety features to include Anti Lock Braking System, Electronic Force Distribution and other features such as keyless entry, push button start, steering mounted buttons, climate control and puddle lamps.
Interiors will receive focus where space maximization and better leg room is concerned. Quality of interiors will also be improved with the Ciaz being projected as an up market offering in the global market. Ciaz will sit on 16” alloy wheels and could come in with a price bracket of INR 7.2 lakhs to INR 10.5 lakhs.
