Maruti Dzire records 31.4 kmpl diesel fuel economy but don’t exceed 50 km/hr
This was second round of celebrations where Swift DZire was concerned. Celebrations commenced with the launch of Swift DZire Regal, a limited edition variant of this much loved sedan last month. “Dzirable Mileage Rally” reported average mileage of Suzuki DZire at 31.4 kmpl where diesel variant was concerned and 27.7 kmpl for its petrol counterpart. These, being the national average, reports from New Delhi were well over the mark as they stood at 49 kmpl for diesel variant and 44.6 kmpl for its petrol engine variant.
Participants at the Rally had to take their Swift DZires along a preset route to a final destination. They were presented with a time chart and route map besides a maximum mileage booklet and were offered expert tips by MSIL engineers and technical teams on ways and means to boost fuel efficiency of their vehicles. Among a host of ideal conditions to attain max mileage is the need to drive under 50 km/hr. Maruti sells an average of 18,000 Dzire compact sedans each month. Honda has brought the fight to the table with their Amaze sedan but are in no position to deliver just as many cars as yet. Honda Amaze diesel fuel economy stands at 25.8 kmpl.
Manohar Bhat, Vice President (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “The Dizerable Mileage Rally is an innovative way to thank the old, new and prospective Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire customers.
