Maruti Ertiga diesel price slashed by INR 62,000 in Delhi, here is the new price list

As Delhi Government introduces reduced VAT percentage on hybrid and electric cars, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has considerably brought down prices of its Ertiga diesel variant. The reduced VAT percentage has seen prices of the Ertiga diesel reduced by INR 51,000 to INR 62,000.

Also known as Maruti Ertiga SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System), it is the SHVS which puts the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in the hybrid category. This system utilizes an electric motor to boost acceleration of the diesel engine. This reduces load on the engine and also brings down fuel consumption to a great extent thereby resulting in lower auto emissions.

The new reduced prices of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga diesel now put both the petrol and diesel variants in more or less the same price bracket. Following reduced prices, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Ldi is now priced at INR 7.08 lakhs as against an earlier INR 7.59 lakhs, an INR 51,000 reduction while top of the line Maruti Ertiga Zdi plus is priced at INR 8.66 lakhs as compared to an earlier INR 9.28 lakhs, an INR 62,000 reduction in price.

Following these reduced prices there is a strong possibility that buyers of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga petrol variant may shift towards the diesel engined option. This will not only give them the benefit of lower running costs but also the added power and performance that the diesel variants offer.

Apart from the reduction in price, another benefit of buying the Maruti Ertiga SHVS is that it is immune to the Delhi Odd-Even Rule!
