Maruti Ertiga monthly sales hit all time low: EcoSport and Amaze eating it’s share?
Maruti Ertiga MPV, which was launched on 12th April 2012 for a starting price of Rs 5.89 lakh, has recorded it’s lowest monthly sales ever since launch, for the month of Sep 2013. During this month, sales of Ertiga, reached a record monthly low of just 2,657 units.
In the last six months, India has received many new cars, including the likes of Honda Amaze and Ford EcoSport, that are a regular feature in the list of top 10 cars sold currently in India. Apart from these two, there is a new addition, Hyundai Grand i10, which registered more than 10,000 unit sales in first month itself.
Though these new cars are from a different segment, it seems that car buyers in India are shifting their liking. No doubt, that the Ertiga is amongst the best large family car out in the market today, but probably the Indian car buyer is not looking for that big a car currently, and is looking for smaller options like EcoSport, Grand i10 or the Amaze.
