Maruti S-Cross sales target at up to 5,000 units every month

Maruti S-Cross was officially launched in India on 5th August. It is offered in a choice of two diesel engine options, which are further divided into seven trims. Out of these seven, four are in the 1.2 liter DDiS 200 model and three are in 1.6 liter DDiS 320 model.

Priced in the range of INR 8.8 lakhs to INR 14.5 lakhs, ex-showroom, Mumbai; the S Cross is Maruti’s first crossover SUV to be launched in India. Considering the high demand for crossovers, Maruti expects to see sales of 4,000-5,000 units every month. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross competes with Renault Duster and the newly launched Hyundai Creta.

Impressive dark interiors, is how Maruti explains the cabin of S-Cross.

Maruti is confident that they will manage to achieve this target. What bolsters their confidence is the fact that the company has already received over 36,000 enquiries and over 6,000 bookings for S-Cross in India.

SUV sales are increasing by leaps and bounds in the country with Industry Consultant IHS Automotive expecting sales to touch the 1 million mark by 2020.

S-Cross is the most powerful and feature-rich car to be offered by Maruti Suzuki in today’s date and time. To match the premium quality of their car, (and the price tag), Maruti Suzuki S Cross will be sold exclusively through their new NEXA dealerships. This is a new dealership experience where Maruti claims customers will receive treatment similar to what is offered at premium luxury car dealerships.

NEXA – TVC

For now, the number of Nexa outlets is minimal, but Maruti Suzuki aims at having 100 NEXA showrooms by March 2016, across 30 cities. The upcoming YRA hatchback (named Baleno), will also be sold via the Nexa outlet.
