Maruti Suzuki aims to replace Hyundai as largest car exporter: New Swift TVC
There aren’t many departments where Maruti Suzuki India, the largest passenger car manufacturer in the country, would want to exchange places with their competitors. Exporting passenger cars is one such dept. MSIL wants the title of largest passenger car exporter in India, which is currently held by Hyundai Motors India Pvt. Ltd.
Maruti Suzuki is currently in the process of setting up 2 new plants in Gujarat. First one will be up and running by 2015 while the second one is set to be commissioned by 2017. Once both are at full steam, Maruti Suzuki India will be able to churn out 3 million passenger cars annually. Apart from increasing production capacity, new car launches is also on cards. 10 new vehicles across all segments are also in the planning stages, which will include premium cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles. The new strategy to enable this growth has been titled “Working Together” wherein Japanese automakers along with their Indian counterparts will be united in their endeavors for the future.
Maruti Suzuki is currently the second largest exporter and expects to overtake Hyundai in the coming five years. Fresh investments to the tune of INR 8,000 crores are planned for Gujarat, as the company plans to make India a global manufacturing hub.
