Maruti Suzuki confirms ‘something interesting’ for 2014 Auto Expo
R C Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India, has confirmed that at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, in February next year, they will have something special to reveal.
Speaking to ET, RC Bhargava did no elaborate further on the topic. But it will not be wrong to expect this special in the form of a new hatchback and a new sedan, which have been spotted by spy photographers, while the cars were out on test on Indian roads.
Maruti will also reveal their first indigineously built diesel engine at the Expo. This will be in the form of a 800 cc, two cylinder engine, which will power the new YL7 hatch. Power output of this engine is expected to be in the 30-40 hp range, while mileage will be at 30-35 kmpl, making it the most fuel efficient car in the country. This new engine will also be the smallest diesel engine in India.
Also on display, there be the new SX4 crossover, Swift facelift, and advanced concept of XA Alpha, in the form of iV4. Apart from this, there will be many more concepts that will be presnet at the Maruti Suzuki stall at the Greater Noida venue.
