Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG variant to be launched soon
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 5.89 lakhs back in April 2012. Available in petrol and diesel engine powered options, it is now revealed the India’s largest car manufacturer, MSIL is close on the heels of launching an even more efficient version of Ertiga MPV.
There is no doubt that Maruti Suzuki understands car buyers in India like no other car manufacturer. Average sales for their MPV Ertiga have been at 6,000+ for the past six months.
MSIL knows that the demand for MPVs is going to increase even further in the near future. With the launch of this new CNG variant of Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki India aims on capturing another 1,500 units in sales every month. AutoCar India reports that the Ertiga CNG will be launched in India within the next 2-3 months.
Maruti Suzuki Eritga is yet to face real competition, as there is hardly anybody else in the market which offers the package and price that Ertiga offers. So all that comes as a competition to Ertiga, if we consider price factor only, is Renault Duster, and Mahindra XUV500. But, Ertiga will soon get a real competitor in the form of Chevrolet Enjoy, which is expected to be launched in April 2013.
It is yet to be seen if GM India can manage to provide some competition to MSIL with Enjoy MPV, as their previous two launches, Sail hatchback and Sail sedan, have hardly affected Swift and Swift DZire sales.
