Maruti Suzuki exports surge ahead in Algeria: Car exports to Africa growing
Customers in Algeria can be likened to buyers in India to some small degree in terms of low level of motorization and customers are more value conscious. In the past three years, demand has been slowly rising, making current sales at three times what it was a few years ago. Thus Maruti Suzuki looks upon African countries as their new customers and a promising export market.
April sales of Maruti Suzuki India jumped 29.7% to 93,058 units as against 71,748 units sold in April 2011. The company also recorded an 89% increase in exports to 13,024 units from 6891 units, however, sales of M800 fell by 3.71% to only 2,258 units in April 2012.
