Maruti Suzuki reported the highest increase in the Passenger cars Utility vehicles segment where they sell the all new Ertiga, with an astronomical 2188.7% increase. For Dec 2011, Maruti registered sales of 238 units in the segment, while for Dec 2012, they sold 5,447 units. in the segment. The exactly opposite was experienced in the Passenger cars Mid-Size where they sell their SX4 sedan. For Dec 2011, Maruti sold 843 units of SX4, while for Dec 2012, they sold jut 329 units. Maruti SX4 is soon going to receive a facelift, which might overturn their sales in the segment.
In the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki India registered a growth rate of 5.9% as their total sales for Dec 2012 stood at 82,073 compared to 77,475 registered for Dec 2011. As far as exports are concerned, MSIL are still struggling. Their exports declined by 11%, as they registered 13,072 units for Dec 2012, compared to 14,686 units for Dec 2011.
