Maruti Suzuki sales up 12 percent in September 2013
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the largest automakers in India have reported that sales during the month of September were up 11.7%. During the past month, the company sold a total of 1,04,964 units as against 93,988 units in September 2012.
Sales of models such as M800, Alto, A Star and WagonR increased 4.9% while cars in the compact segment which comprised of Swift, Estilo and Ritz increased 16.9%. In this category, MSIL sold a total of 20,828 units during the past month as against 17,813 units in September 2012.
Sales of DZire increased 42.9% while sales of SX4 increased 31.3%. In the utility vehicle segment Gypsy, Grand Vitara and Ertiga sales during September stood at 2,657 units down 63.2% as compared to 7,224 units sold in September 2012. This includes 14,565 units for export. The Company had sold a total of 93,988 units in September 2012.
