Maruti Swift Facelift bookings open, old stock almost over

Maruti Swift facelift bookings have commenced at company showrooms for an advance payment of INR 10,000. Swift facelift in its new avatar, is expected to follow the same success story and deliveries will commence from early November. Speaking to a few dealers, they confirmed that the existing Swift’s stock has almost come to an end, and the company has already started production of new Swift at their plant. Test drive cars with special decals have already been spied. These will arrive at dealerships in the coming days, while deliveries will begin in November.

Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift with both petrol and diesel engine options will continue to be powered by1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine and 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine, mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The petrol engine will be tuned to generate 86 bhp power at 6,200 rpm and 114 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm. The diesel engine can produce 74 bhp power at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm. Both these engines will be tweaked to deliver better fuel efficiency.

To compete with Hyundai Elite i20, VW Polo, and yet to be launched Honda Jazz, Tata Bolt, the Swift facelift receives some exterior and interior modifications which will mostly be seen on top end variants – ZXi and ZDi. These will include silver L shaped accents on foglamp enclosures and chrome door handles while alloy wheel design has also been modified. Interiors of these top end variants will sport changes to engine starter button and steering integrated Bluetooth controls.

Unlike the European Swift, the Indian variant is not expected to get LED DRLs. Swift facelift will also get a host of safety features such as ABS, EBD Electronic Stability Program and both front and side airbags. Special features will include reverse parking sensors, electronically adjustable ORVMs and keyless entry. No indications on prices as on date but expected prices are in the range of INR 4.5 to 7 lakhs.
