Maruti SX4 S-Cross was spotted on test in the NCR region indicating impending launch in early 2015 when the compact crossover will compete with the likes of Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano.
In Europe, SX4 S-Cross is powered by a 1.6 liter petrol engine offering 120 PS peak power and 156 Nm peak torque mated to a five speed manual gearbox or CVT. Diesel engine is in the form of Fiat’s 1.6 liter MultiJet engine, generating 120 PS and 320 Nm torque. Unlike petrol, which is offered in both manual and automatic transmission option, diesel variant only comes with manual 6 speed gearbox. On both variants, both 4×2 and 4×4 is on offer.
The soon to be launched Maruti SX4 S Cross, shares platform with Suzuki SX4. Available in International markets, the new S Cross is already a recipient of 5 Star EURO NCAP rating for overall safety ratings.
The Indian spec top end SX4 S Cross variants promise to come in with alloy wheels, ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, automatic climate controls, multifunction steering wheel and engine start/stop button. Pricing in India is pegged at between INR 10-13 lakhs.
