Rushlane.com reported yesterday about Maruti Suzuki India going for multiple rollouts in order to keep its hold in market. Latest reports suggest Maruti to launch A-Star with automatic transmission in India later this month. Currently only Hyundai's i10 is the only small car on Indian roads which offers automatic transmission option to its customers.
Studying present scenario of Indian roads, a gearbox with automatic transmission is like a boon for drivers who have to maneuver through traffic everyday. More and more women are buying cars in major Indian cities where Stop-go-Stop is normal driving norm. Sighting this as a golden opportunity Maruti would want to take on Hyundai i10's market and give its customers a more comfortable drive. Though Maruti have not quoted a price for the new A-Star, market analysts expect it to be costlier by Rs 50,000.
