In a bid to keep its market share safe, Maruti Suzuki India will be launching CNG variants of their following variants, Alto, Estillo, Wagon R, Eeco and SX4. All these cars will be available with company fitted CNG kit from second week of August. Mr Shashank Srivastava, MSI Marketing Manager said, "The CNG models will be very important in our portfolio. We are the first company to come out with factory-fitted CNG cars and we will have the first mover's advantage in the market. It is the launch of a technology, not the cars. It is the concept of factory-fitted CNG models."
For the first time ever MSI saw their market share in India drop below 50% to 47.59%. MSI Board have considered this as a warning sign and ordered immediate steps to tackle the issue. It seems launching 5 cars in a day would be Maruti's first step towards regaining lost market share. Plus MSI is expecting a 25% rise in sales of new Alto K10 which will be priced between Rs 2.29 lakhs and 2.81 lakhs.
