Maserati India to go official from 15th July 2015

In what will be Maserati’s second stint in India, the Italian manufacturer will hold a press conference on July 15, 2015 in New Delhi. It is here that the company will officially reveal their plans for India.

The company’s first dealership is slated to open in Mumbai, which is where with independent marketing and sales office in Mumbai’s Lower Parel area.

Gearing up for launch, Maserati India is setting up an 8-10 member team of middle and senior level management while some senior management positions have already been filled. The India office will be reporting to the Maserati Dubai regional office which in turn will report to Bojan Jankulovski – General Overseas Markets Network Development Manager at Maserati.

To showcase its products for the first time in February at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, Maserati will be bringing its GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Quattroporte to the country. Both GranTurismo and GranCabrio will be powered by either 4.2 liter or 4.7 liter V8 petrol engines while the Quattroporte will receive a range of petrol and diesel engine options to include 3.0 liter V6, 3.8 liter V8 petrol engines besides a 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine.

Maserati dealerships in India will adhere to international standards. They will be very premium and exclusive.

Maserati return to India will also see launch of the Ghibli sports sedan in a price range from INR 80-95 lakhs to compete with Mercedes-Benz CLS, Audi A7 and BMW 6-series Gran Coupe. This sports sedan in global markets is powered by a 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 engine offering 330 hp power at 5,000 rpm and 500 Nm torque at 1,750-4,500 rpm allowing the Maserati Ghibli to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.7 second and reach a top speed of 263 kmph. The Ghibli is also offered powered by a 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine capable of steering the vehicle from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds and to a top speed of 250 kmph.
