Matthew McConaughey and Lincoln collaborate
Matthew McConaughey has signed an advertising deal with Lincoln Motor Company. Following this multiyear collaboration, McConaughey will act as storyteller to a soon to be launched Lincoln broadcast and for all company’s digital advertising campaigns.
The first advertisement campaign directed by Nicholas Winding Refn in which the 44 year old, Oscar-winning actor, Matthew McConaughey features in will get off to a flying start with a series of TV and digital spots commencing with the 2015 Lincoln MKC, Premium Utility Vehicle.
This is not for the first time that McConaughey and Lincoln are co-stars. McConaughey won an Oscar earlier this year for his role in Dallas Buyers Club. In his 2011 film, ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’, he played a lawyer who worked from the back seat of a Lincoln Town Car.
Lincoln MKC went on sale in May 2014 at a starting price of $33,995 (INR 20,53,637). Till date, the company has sold a total of 2,895 units in the US. Lincoln MKC is offered in Premiere, Select and Reserve trim levels and comes in powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder unit producing 240 hp and 270 lb/ft torque along with a 2.3 liter unit capable of 285 hp and 305 lb/ft torque. Both engines are mated to six speed automatic transmission. MKC compete against BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class, Cadillac SRX and Acura RDX.
