Mazda MX-5 Kuro soft top and roadster coupe limited edition announced at £18,495 and £21,995 respectively (Photos)

Mazda has announced new limited editions of their MX-5 Kuro variant. Only 200 numbers of Kuro MX5 Soft top and 400 numbers of Kuro MX5 Roadster coupe will make its way in the UK. Kuro Soft top will be priced at £18,495 while the coupe version will be priced at £21,995. Kuro means ‘black’ in Japanese and so these vehicle will have black roof, front grille, fog lamps, black mirrors and black alloys wheels even though they will be offered in exterior colors of Velocity Red Mica, Crystal White Pearlescent and Brilliant Black.

Distinct ‘Kuro Edition’ badging will be prominently displayed. Extensive use of black will be seen in the interiors as well. Stone and Black heated leather seats, stone leather inserts in door, contrasted with red stitching, silver interior panels with red accents, alloy pedals and floor mats.

Kuro MX-5 edition will go on sale across the UK. Customers will be given a choice of two powertrains – a 126 PS 1.8 liter five gearbox for the Soft top while a 160 PS, 2.0 liter with six speed manual transmission will be available under the bonnet of the Coupe version.

Excellent handling and high performance will see the Soft top sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 9.9 seconds while the coupe will be able to do this in just 7.9 seconds while both will reach a peak speed of 121 mph and 136 mph respectively.
