McLaren P1 takes the cake, or is it laFerrari ?
McLaren P1 and LaFerrari, the two new flagship products of the auto industry were revealed last week at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Now the question is, who do you think will take the cake to be named as the best hybrid sports car?
Both being made exclusively out of lightweight material, P1 is produced from the company plant at Woking, Surrey, wheras the laFerrari is from Italy. Where speed is concerned, P1 can hit 200 kmph in under 7 seconds and 300 kmph in 17 seconds, laFerrari too has the same number for reaching 200 kmph, but for 300 kmph it will take less than 15 seconds.
McLaren says, P1 is the best road car and track car in the world. Its power comes from a twin power hybrid power plant under its hood. The vehicle uses a twin turbo 3.8 liter V8 engine and an electric motor offering a combined 903 hp and 663 lb/ft torque. Whereas the laFerrari gets its power from 6.3L V12 and 161 bhp electric motor, which in total generates 950 bhp.
Both P1 and LaFerrari are limited editions.Respective productions has been limited to 375 units and 499 units. We havent heard from McLaren, but Ferrari has revealed that they have received bookings from 1,000 customers.
