2017 Mercedes AMG S65 Cabriolet makes global debut

The new flagship in the S Class family from Mercedes-AMG, made its global debut today. Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet is powered by a 6.0-liter bi-turbo V12 engine which generates 463 kW (630 hp) and 1,000 Nm of maximum torque.

This engine is mated to AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission, which powers the rear wheels. The Mercedes AMG S65 Cabriolet achieves 0-100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph (electronically limited).

The range topping S Class comes with 20 inch alloys which are wrapped in 255/40 rubber in the front and 285/35 rubber at the rear. In spite of being powered by such a beast of an engine, it delivers an admirable 8.33 kmpl, claims the company.

What makes the Mercedes AMG S65 Cabriolet stand out from the regular S Class Cabriolet, is its “twin blade” radiator grille in the front, “V12 BITURBO” badge under the ORVM, and the AMG sports exhaust system with chromed tailpipes. You con opt for the 3-layered acoustic fabric soft top in colors of – black, dark blue, beige or dark red. It can be opened and closed at standstill or at speeds of upto 50 kmph in just 17 seconds.

On the inside, the new S Class Cabriolet gets a similar layout as seen on the other S Class variants. As this is an AMG, its gets the AMG instrument panel with speedo going all the way to 360 kmph, rev counter with V12 BITURBO lettering, head-up display, AM/FM radio, USB, AUX-IN, Bluetooth connectivity, 360 degree camera, Burmester sound system, nappa leather, electrically adjustable seats with heating and cooling function, heated armrests, and much more.
