Mercedes-Benz Apps service in India for cars with COMAND Online

Mercedes-Benz Apps ensure convenient access to popular apps and services on the internet. The service was introduced at the launch of new CLS 250 CDI and new E-Class Cabriolet by Mercedes-Benz India. Now it is available with all Mercedes-Benz cars (S-Class, GL-Class, ML-Class
and all AMGs) equipped with COMAND Online system (New Telematics Generation (NTG) 4.5 and above (NTG 4.5, 5*1 and 5*2).

Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India says the auto manufacturer is keen to bring the best in luxury and technology to
customers. Mercedes-Benz Apps is another initiative that serves customers. Mercedes-Benz Apps will be a standard offering for new cars, and existing customers who have COMAND Online system in their cars.

Alongside internet browsing, Mercedes-Benz Apps service portfolio in India includes Mercedes-Benz Radio, a web radio that offers selected content created exclusively for Mercedes-Benz owners. TuneIn Radio lets users check into over 100,000 real radio stations and four million on-demand programs and podcasts from around the world.

Mercedes-Benz Apps available for cars in India

Users can view a daily or 5-day forecast for their any location they specify. A nationwide weather map can be viewed and moved to display weather at a specific location. The News App (Audio news with text-to-speech function) has a news-reading function for on-the-go worldwide news. One-click read out aloud (text–to–speech) feature lets users listen to news while driving without the distraction of looking at the screen.

RSS newsfeeds let subscribers manage subscribed feeds. RSS Reader Service enables scanning headlines to mark them for future reading or listen to full articles that will be read aloud. HRS Hotel search app lets one search and select accommodation across various hotel categories. Price
and address details can be viewed with navigation option.

Morningstar Finance (only with CLS-Class) offers global market data from Morningstar, Inc. Search results include information from over 416,000 investment offerings including stocks, currencies and commodities. Customers can create a ‘Watch List’.

Cloud-based connectivity enables updates and access to latest apps sent to the vehicle over-the-air. As a result, customer vehicle stays current with the latest Mercedes-Benz Apps without the need to visit the dealership. App portfolio as expected will keep expanding. Apps can be accessed via internet data connectivity through a Bluetooth tethered smartphone (Apple iPhone, BlackBerry and Android or Windows-based smartphones). Going forward, Mercedes-Benz Apps will be made available with more models.
