Mercedes Benz will take part for the second time in the Youngtimer Classic Racing event to be held in 2013 with a model built specially for the purpose. The Dunlop FHR Endurance Cup will feature a Mercedes-Benz 220 SE vehicle which was seen during the 2011 season. It’s referred to as a ‘flaming fintail’ and boasts of authentic grey paintwork that brings back memories from the 50’s and 60’s.

The Youngtimer classic racing series is organized by the FHR, which is made up of a group of avid racing enthusiasts promoting racing traditions from yesteryears. The Mercedes-Benz 220 SE is a 2-door sedan powered by a M127 engine with 2195 cc of displacement and capable of producing power of 120 PS. Since the first season of this racing event the number of competitors has gone up considerably from 35 in the first season to 300 in 2005.

Vehicles that were built up to 1988 are eligible for this competition which aims to infuse a traditional car racing scene within today’s generation. Competitors can jostle for points in the endurance, rally, and circuit race disciplines which will be held during the event.
