Need for compact SUV is on the rise in the auto markets around the world today. A smaller and more compact G Wagon is expected to roll out from the stables of Mercedes Benz sometime in 2015. The new model will be based on the A Class and will be seen in a more boxy exterior design to the G Class while interiors are modern and well styled.

The vehicle will be powered with the same engines as seen in the A and B Class which includes a 1.6 liter engine offering 122 hp while a larger and more powerful 2.0 liter engine will offer 156 hp or 211 hp. There will also be the addition of four diesel engines which will include a 1.8 liter offering 109 hp, a 2.1 liter offering 136 hp, 170 hp and 204 hp.

Mercedes Benz will also offer a top of the line AMG edition in their baby G Wagon which will be nomenclatured GLG AMG. It will be powered by a 350 hp mill. The Mercedes Benz G Wagon goes into production with launch expected in mid 2015. Once successfully launched, the G Wagon will compete with the sub Evoque crossover being planned by Land Rover.
