Mercedes Benz G63 AMG gets 2 more wheels: 6×6 offroader
Mercedes Benz has stunned us, and once you watch the video here, you too will be left with a mouth wide open. Mercedes Benz SUV G63 AMG 6×6 takes the definition of extreme offroader to an all new level.
The civilian version is more sophisticated and displays better comforts with its leather lined interiors, four seater cabin, five differential locks and row range gearing. G63 AMG 6×6 will be the second most expensive vehicle in the Mercedes Benz stable after SLS AMG Electric Drive at $457,000 (€350,000 or INR 2.5 crores). Sales of G63 AMG will commence from October 2013.
Similar to what was seen on the military edition, the civilian edition too will be fitted with a twin turbocharged 5.5 liter V8 engine offering 536 hp and 560 lb/ft torque mated to a 7G tronic seven speed automatic while the vehicle will weigh 8,322 pounds (3,775 kgs). This G63 AMG 6×6 sits on 37” wheels and is shod in tyres that are 12.5” wide. The vehicle measures 231.3” in length, 83.1” in width and is 87.0” high thus making it longer, taller and broader than the G63 AMG SUV.
Mercedes Benz G63 AMG 6×6 is a 4 seater. It has a 460 mm ground clearance, approach angle of 52 degrees and departure angle of 54 degrees, respective figures for regular G63 AMG stand at 217 mm, 36 degrees and 27 degrees. G63 AMG 6×6 takes less than 6 seconds for a 0-100 kmph sprint and has a electronically limited top speed of 160 kmph. Mileage is at 5.55 kmpl.
