Mercedes Benz has successfully launched their new GLK Class in the luxury SUV markets of China last week from where it will also be produced through a joint venture with Beijing Benz Automotive Company. The GLK Class is seen with sparking new interiors and a much stylized exterior and is expected to boost sales in the very competitive Chinese market drawing the special attention of adventure loving buyers.
GLK Class is fitted with a 3.0 liter V6 engine which puts out maximum power of 245 bhp while maximum torque is pegged at 300 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7 speed automatic transmission while its 7G TronicPlus transmission offers enhanced fuel efficiency coupled with smoother gear shift facilities.
GLK Class comes with a host of safety features such as Electronic Stability Program, Acceleration Slip Regulation, etc which offers better stability and enhanced traction even in the most challenging of road conditions. Based on the same wheel base as its predecessor, the current model offers additional leg room of 40mm specially at the rear while seats are well adjusted for utmost comfort possibilities which appeals to its Chinese audience.
GLK Class is being offered in a choice of six exterior colors while interiors are available in six leather options. Beijing Benz is well noted for its affiliations to various tennis tournaments in the country and hence the National Tennis Centre where the China Open was held from September 29th to October 7th was chosen as the venue for the new GLK Class to make its debut. Previously Roger Federer’s new Mercedes-Benz commercial for the 2013 GL-Class was being aired to find a suitable title until Congratulations Roger Federer was selected as title for the print ad.
