Mercedes-Benz India reports 39% growth in pre-owned cars segment 2014 YTD, Mercedes-Benz Certified outlets

Mercedes-Benz Certified offers pre-owned car customers a new car purchase experience with tailor-made financing options, exciting warranty and service packages. Increased demand for pre-owned Mercedes-Benz cars is attributed to build quality, tested reliability, and craftsmanship, which paves the way for high re-sale value. 2014 has been successful year for Mercedes-Benz India, and the luxury car manufacturer is happy to end it on a high with launch of Mercedes-Benz Certified.

Launch of 12 new Mercedes-Benz Certified outlets cements the luxury manufacturer’s densest network offering in the pre-owned segment as well. The automakers aims to further organise the pre-owned car market and offer customers an experience, similar to new car customers. Pre-owned cars segment has great potential and will propel future growth of the auto industry. Mercedes-Benz reports 39% growth in 2014 YTD in pre-owned cars segment. Attractive offerings should infuse segment growth to further sales of new cars as well.

The 12 new Mercedes-Benz Certified outlets are: Shaman Wheels, Auto Hangar (Mumbai), Sundaram Motors, Akshaya Motors (Bangalore), B.U. Bhandari (Pune), Panjab Motors (Mohali), T&T Motors (West Delhi), T&T Motors (Mathura Road), Joshi Autozone (Chandigarh), Rajasree Motors (Cochin), Transcar (Chennai), Adishwar Motors (Hyderabad).

Shaman Wheels, Auto Hangar and Sundaram Motors are stand-alone outlets. The remainder 9 are are shop-in-shops, and will be upgraded to standalone facilities as required, based on business volume. Mercedes-Benz Certified car listings will be selected based on quality checks by Mercedes-Benz staff. Each car will have passed the following parameters: Age of the car will need to be less than 5 years, would have run less than 100,000 kms, no accident history, and not more than 2 owners. Pre-owned cars will be sold with manufacturer backed warranty of one year or 20,000 kms. Non Mercedes-Benz cars will be sold without warranty. Mercedes-Benz Certified makes way for customers to trade-in their non Mercedes-Benz car for a Mercedes-Benz with a promise of right price through transparent evaluation backed by hassle free documentation.

Mercedes-Benz Certified for India has been launched with a listing of 150 pre-owned Mercedes-Benz cars. Beginning with metros, the automaker’s bigger markets, the used car programme will be introduced to tier II and tier III emerging markets. Mercedes-Benz Certified at present has 150+ sales bays, and will be increased to 250+ bays by 2015 end. The website will help customers search for vehicles, calculate finances, permit trade in facilities and caters to online enquiries.
