Mercedes Benz India launches 5 new outlets in two days

At an investment of Rs 430 million, Titanium Motors inaugurates a new Mercedes Benz dealership, City Showroom and service centre spread cumulatively over 85,000 sq. ft. The new Chennai outlets in partnership with VST Group provides employment to 90 trained staff.

The new showroom is located in Gove Building (built in 1916) on Anna Salai. It took seven months for the 25,000 sq. ft Titanium Motors new showroom to come into being. Titanium Motors Mercedes-Benz experience includes a driver’s lounge, drive-in valet service, customer lounge, Cafe Mercedes and 15 cars on display among other facilities. The architectural wonder wears a 90 feet tall frontage, 18 feet tall plate-glass windows and is built in stone.

The 45,000 sq ft service centre and body shop is located at Perungudi Industrial Estate. It is built at an investment of Rs 250 million, and took 10 months to build. It houses 27 service bays, capable of servicing 6,000 cars a year.

The third outlet of the total five opened in two days, new dealership is located in South Chennai at 148/K, Old Mahabalipuram Road, Okkiyam, Thoraipakkam and warranted expenses of Rs. 180 million (18 Crores).

Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Arun Surendra, Managing Director, Titanium Motors inaugurated the Chennai outlets.

The matured Chennai automotive market is one Mercedes-Benz’ key focus markets. The country has reported luxury car market growth in general, and Mercedes-Benz cars in particular.

After opening three outlets in a single day in Chennai, Mercedes Benz India headed to Calicut in Kerala. It is here where Mercedes-Benz India along with their partner Bridgeway Motors launched a new dealership.

The dealership confirmed 30 bookings prior to inauguration. Together, the two new outlets in Calicut, dealership and service centre were built in 9 months at an expenditure of INR 300 million (or INR 30 crores). Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, Boris Fitz, Vice-President, Sales and Network Development, Mercedes-Benz India and Ajmal Abdul Wahab, Managing Director, Bridgeway Motors attended the inauguration event.

Bridgeway Motors Calicut is located near Westhill Post Office, NH 17,Kannur Road, Westhill Calicut-5. The service centre and body shop is located at Farook College PO, Off Calicut NH Bypass road at Azhinjillam. Bridgeway Motors’ service facility houses 28 service bays capable to service about 6000 cars per year.

The Calicut inauguration is the 11th dealership as part of Mercedes-Benz India’s 15 in 15 strategy which looks at 15 new outlets in 2015. Mercedes-Benz India now operates out of 78 outlets across 39 cities.
