Mercedes Benz India Facebook fans cross 1 million: A Class preview photos
Earlier today, Mercedes Benz India revealed that their total number of fans on Facebook have now crossed the 1 million mark. This makes them the third most followed Mercedes Benz page on Facebook, after Mercedes-Benz Global and Mercedes-Benz USA. They also revealed that their page score is the highest in luxury auto space in India.
But, compared to their competitors, Mercedes Benz India’s Facebook fans are far lesser. Audi India is at top with 2.07 million fans, while BMW India is at second with 1.63 million fans. Apart from this, Mercedes Benz has two new launches coming up this month. First is the GL Class SUV on 16th, and the next one is of A Class.
Mercedes Benz A Class is scheduled to launch on May 30, 2013. But, it has already been shown to probable customers in various Indian cities. The images here (credit Team-BHP) are from the exclusive preview held at Shaman Wheels, Navi Mumbai, Mercedes Benz dealers on Friday, May 3.
The new A Class can be seen here with its Diamond radiator grille, AMG 5 twin spoke alloy wheels and its Polar silver metallic exterior paint.¬†The A Class sports hatchback will come into Indian markets via the CBU route. However, it has been confirmed that Mercedes Benz India will commence assembly of both A Class and B Class models from their Chakan plant near Pune via CKD kits at a later date.
The A Class hatchback will be available with two engine options, a 1.6 liter petrol and 1.8 liter turbo diesel engine with both engines being mated to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. ARAI puts fuel efficiency ratings at 20 kmpl where the diesel engine is concerned.
Despite the fact that A Class is an entry level car, the company has not held back where equipment and features is concerned. The model will sport Bi-xenon head lights, 7 air bags, ESP, adaptive brake lights along with a host of safety features which will include tyre pressure loss warning, attention assist and hill start assist.¬†Prices are expected to be in the INR 22-25 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi) range.
