Mercedes-Benz India GL-Class launch price withstands, 2.5% to 4.5% price hike for luxury car range from 1st September
Keeping in mind increased demand for luxury vehicles and operational growth, Mercedes Benz India will soon double production capacity at its Chakan Plant. Production capacity is being increased from a present 10,000 to 20,000 units from early 2014.
Fitted with a 2987cc V6 diesel engine, and max torque of 691 Nm at 1600 to 2400 rpm mated to a 7G TRONIC plus automatic transmission, acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is in 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 220 kmph.
New GL Class displays outstanding performance, interior space is at a premium while fuel efficiency is at its zenith with 14.8% lower fuel consumption as compared to its predecessor. GL-Class is equipped with technologies which include DSR, ESP, 4ETS, 4MATIC, AIRMATIC and an ECO start/stop function that drastically reduces fuel consumption and auto emissions.
From 1st September, Mercedes-Benz India increase their product price range from 2.5% to 4.5%. As such, A-Class 180 CDI compact will now be available at a price of Rs. 22.05 lakhs at a 4% price increase. B-Class 180 CDI luxury sports tourer sees a 4% increase and has a new price of Rs. 23.50 lakhs. C-Class 200 CGI Avantgarde sedan is available at a price of Rs. 32.25 lakhs with 2.5% increase. E-Class 200 CGI Avantgarde saloon price is now Rs. 42.16 lakhs at 3.5% increase. ML-Class 250 CDI SUV price is Rs 50.98 lakhs at 4% increase. All prices are ex-showroom Mumbai.
