Mercedes Concept Coupe SUV is BMW X6 rival in the making
Mercedes Benz has previewed a new MLC SUV with a new concept Coupe SUV ahead of showing at Beijing Auto Show opening its doors from April 20 2014. This concept made its presence felt at the company’s annual shareholder meeting and was introduced by Daimler Chief, Dieter Zetsche.
Slated to be ready for production in 2015 and codenamed C292 as on date, the new Mercedes MLC will be produced from the company’s US plant along with the ML. Once successfully launched, the Mercedes MLC will compete with the new BMW X6 while the new ML from Mercedes Benz will compete with the BMW X5.
Mercedes Benz Concept Coupé SUVs will be seen with aggressive styling, a rakish roofline, SLS AMG inspired grille and AMG styled bodywork. In a five door layout, the concept will sport dynamic handling and a sporty appeal set to attract the attention of new customers in this segment. Engines on board could include V6 petrol and diesel engines while it will also be powered by a hybrid powertrain.
“This study will be officially unveiled in just under two weeks from now at Auto China in Beijing,” said Zetsche in his address. “But we wanted to show you this vehicle today. We see major potential for Mercedes-Benz in particular in this combination of a coupe and an SUV.”
