Mike Flewitt new CEO of McLaren
McLaren Automotive has appointed Mike Flewitt as its new CEO. Flewitt, who joined McLaren Automotive in May 2012 was earlier Chief Operating Officer and assumes his new role as CEO with immediate effect. Prior to joining McLaren, Flewitt has served as vice president of Ford, Europe while he was later appointed as corporate officer for Ford.
Prior to joining Ford, Flewitt was with AutoNova AB, TWR Group Ltd besides Rolls Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Limited. Well versed in both Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and with a post graduate degree in Management and Project Management from Salford University in 1996, Flewitt is also a keen auto enthusiast and on and off track driver.
In the past year as he worked at McLaren as COO, the company has launched the 12C Spider and also revealed the McLaren P1 which has been launched in its 25th market. The company has set a goal of reaching a global network of 50 retailers by end of the current year which is symbolic considering the McLaren Group also celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
