What began as Agusta Aviation company back in 1923, was converted into a motorcycle manufacturing company by the end of second world war. Founded by Giovanni Agusta back in February 1945, MV Agusta today is a world renowned motorcycle manufacturer.
Built around a racing philosophy, MV Agusta founders’ sole purpose to manufacture and sell bikes was to fulfill their passion in motorcycle racing. It is due to this reason, every motorcycle made under the MV Agusta name is a racing bike first and a motorcycle later.
Their first bike, the ’98’, which was launched in 1945, started winning endurance races in its first production year itself. This speaks highly of MV Agusta’s racing heritage.
Speaking about their current line-up, it consists of Brutale, Rivale, Turismo Veloce, F3 and F4. All of these will be launched in India, at a price range of Rs 12 – 33 lakhs, ex-showroom. Official price of each bike will be revealed when they are launched in November. For now, here is a brief look at each of their offerings below-
Brutale 675
MV Agusta Brutale 675Powered by a 675 cc three cylinder engine, Brutale 675 is the most affordable MV Agusta on offer today. Priced from $11,998, power output stands at 110 hp at 12,500 rpm and 65 Nm at 12,000 rpm. It has a top speed of 225 kmph.
Brutale 800
MV Agusta BRUTALE 800Available in two trims – Brutale 800 and Brutale 800 RR are powered by the same 798 cc inline three cylinder engine. On board the Brutale 800, this engine generates 125 hp at 11,600 rpm, while aboard the RR it delivers 140 hp at 13,100 rpm. Both have a top speed of 245 kmph. Price of Brutale 800 starts from $12,798, while that of the RR variant starts from $15,498.
MV Agusta BRUTALE 800 RRBrutale 800 Dragster
MV Agusta Dragster 800Offered in two trims, Brutale 800 Dragster and Brutale 800 Dragster RR, the engine powering the two is same – inline 3 cylinder 798 cc, but the power output differs. Aboard the Brutale 800 Dragster, this engine delivers 125 hp at 11,600 rpm and 81 Nm at 8,600 rpm – price $14,798; aboard the RR it delivers 140 hp at 13,100 rpm and 86 Nm at 10,100 rpm – price $17,798. Both have a top speed of 245 kmph.
MV Agusta Dragster 800 RRBrutale 1090
MV Agusta Brutale 1090This version is offered in three trims – Brutale 1090, Brutale 1090 RR and Brutale Corsa, all three powered by a 1078 cc four cylinder engine. First two are available in two options each – 144 hp at 10,300 rpm and 158 hp at 11,900 rpm. The third on the list, is offered only with 158 hp tune. Price for Brutale 1090 starts from $15,998, for Brutale 1090 RR starts from $18,998 and for the Corsa, price starts from 22,498. Top speed of all three is 265 kmph.

MV Agusta F3 675Powered by a 675 cc three cylinder engine, F3 675 is a fully faired sportsbike. Power output stands at 128 hp at 14,400 rpm and 71 Nm at 10,900 rpm. With a top speed of 260 kmph, price of this one starts from $14,298.
F3 800
MV Agusta F3 800This one is available in two trims, F3 800 and F3 800 AGO. Both variants are powered by a three cylinder 798 cc engine generating same output, 148 hp at 13,000 rpm and 88 Nm torque at 10,600 rpm. Price of former starts from $15,798, while the latter starts from $24,598. Both have top speed of 269 kmph.
MV Agusta F3 800 AgoF4
Available in three trims – F4, F4 RC and F4 RR; all four are powered by a 998 cc four cylinder engine.
MV Agusta F4Aboard the F4, it generates 195 hp at 13,100 rpm and 110.8 Nm torque at 9,600 rpm. It has a top speed of 291.2 kmph and a starting price of $19,498.
MV Agusta F4 RRAboard the F4 RR, it generates 201 hp at 13,600 rpm and 111 Nm torque at 9,300 rpm. It has a top speed of 297.5 kmph and a starting price of $26,498.
MV Agusta F4 RC. Why AMG logo? Mercedes-AMG owns 25% stake in MV Agusta.Aboard the F4 RC (Race mode), it generates 212 hp at 13,600 rpm and 115 Nm torque at 9,300 rpm. It has a top speed of 302 kmph and a starting price of $46,000.
Rivale 800
MV Agusta Rivale 800A naked sportsbike, Rivale 800 is powered by a 798 cc three cylinder engine. It delivers 125 hp at 12,000 rpm and 84 Nm at 8,600 rpm. Top speed stands at 245 kmph, while price starts from $13,798.
Stradale 800
MV Agusta Stradale 800MV Agusta Stradale 800 is powered by a inline 3 cylinder 798 cc engine which generates 115 hp at 11,000 rpm and 78.5 Nm at 9,000 rpm. Weighing 181 kgs, price of this one starts from $14,598. It has a top speed of 214 kmph.
Turismo Veloce 800
MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800Available in two trims – Turismo Veloce 800 and Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso, power to both comes from a 798 cc three cylinder engine, which delivers 110 hp at 10,000 rpm and 83 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Both have a top speed of 230 kmph. Price of the former starts from $15,998 while that of the latter starts from $18,998

As for us, motorcycle enthusiasts in India, the launch couldn’t have come at a better time. Demand for 600+ cc motorcycles is at an exponential rise. With Ducati already here, it will be interesting to see how the two Italian brands compete here in India. Though MV Agusta does not have a brand reach as vast as Ducati’s in India; they surely have an interesting line-up on offer. Only time will tell which Italian comes out on top in the Indian superbike segment.
