Narendra Modi reveals Vadodara’s state of the art bus terminus (Photos)
On Friday, Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat, inaugurated a state of the art bus terminus at Vadodara. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Bus Station, the new facility is built on international standards and designed on the theme of a banyan tree.
The exclusive bus terminus in Vadodara, built by Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, constructed under Public-Private Partnership at a cost of INR 110 crores, possesses electronic scrolling system for intimating arrival and departure of buses.
The entire bus terminal is spread over an area of 2,039 sq mt and consists of 35 bays out of which 5 are for alighting from buses, 20 are for boarding facilities while 10 are kept idle as on date. The waiting hall and lounge area are air conditioned to provide utmost comfort to passengers, while a portion of the area is segregated for dormitories for the benefit of crew and passengers.
Other facilities on site include wheel chairs and separate toilets for handicapped persons, help desks for passengers, housekeeping and security facilities and RO filtered drinking water. The entire area is covered by CCTV cameras and even houses a supermarket, shopping mall, multiplex, restaurant and food court besides commercial offices and a budget hotel.
