Narendra Modi inspires Unity Express luxury train
Drawing inspiration from Narendra Modi’s dream to build the ‘Statue of Unity’ at Gujarat, Worldwide Rail Journeys is working on a train named ‘Unity Express’ to promote rail tourism in India.
Indian railway infrastructure is global unparalleled with potential for rail tourism. using its existing infrastructure, rail tourism can be promoted in a big way to fuel economy as well as strengthen the country’s environment friendly offering to reduce overall carbon footprint.
Manish Saini, Director of Worldwide Rail Journeys plans to launch ‘Unity Express’ to take tourists across Indian diversity. To be built as a luxury train with best-in-class services aboard, rail coaches will be inspired with Indian state themes. When Unity Express halts at a state, guests will be treated to local cuisine, cultural shows upholding folk traditions, and visits to landmarks.
Unity Express’ coaches are separated with well-appointed cabins. The air-conditioned train will have a dining car, lounge, and attendants. In its planning stage, Worldwide Rail is finalising itinerary, tour duration, stops and guest experiences. Discussions are on with leading luxury train operators and government officials to make Unity Express a reality soon, at which time bookings will be confirmed on first come first serve basis.
In the build up, Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will on chartered basis be run as ‘Unity Express’ and later a dedicated train will eb used for thsi purpose.
