The commercial vehicle industry in India is up ahead in its race with global emission regulations and this will bring in new world class products due to the implementation of Euro V and new automatic transmission standards by 2015. This week Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), 100% Indian subsidiary of the truck manufacturers, Daimler AG, launched their first range of BharatBenz trucks for India.
Government subsidies for components used in green and fuel efficient vehicles will encourage vehicle owners to switch to more fuel efficient vehicles which will play a major role in improving the quality of the environment.Besides this, new fiscal policies regarding goods and service taxes are also to be implemented. Single tax system for movement of goods across the country will come into effect and this is what will make supply chains more effective.
