Facelifted Honda CBR 250R now looks more akin to the CBR genus bikes now, as opposed to the previous generation 250R bearing looks of VFR genus bikes of Honda. New red and blue pattern on full white base skin (dubbed Honda Three Colors) looks funky and sporty at the same time. Introduction of twin headlamps is a nice catch.
Engine of 2015 CBR 250R is tweaked to produce 29 PS max. power at 9,000 rpm and 23Nm peak torque at 7,500 rpm, in an attempt to make it more vibrant.
Older specification of Honda CBR 250R (still sold in other Asian markets like India) includes same single cylinder 249.6cc 4-stroke petrol engine with DOHC, that produces 25.35 PS max. power at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 23 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine has 4 valves and temperature of power plant is controlled by oil-cooling system. The 6-speed manual transmission in CBR 250R works in traditional 1-down 5-up principle.
Performance of the previous engine tune in Honda CBR 250R recorded 0 to 60 kmph sprint in 3.50 seconds. The CBR 250R was capable of doing around 145 kmph tops. Now it probably would cross the 150 kmph mark, given that few extra horses are shoved into the same engine. Claimed mileage of 50.1 kmpl is pretty surprising for a bike in its segment. Fuel tank capacity remains at 13 litres.
