New Hyundai i10 gets a Grand opening: 10,000 bookings in 20 days
Hyundai Motors India Limited, second largest auto manufacturers and largest car exporters in the country, launched the new i10 called Grand i10 in India on the 3rd September 2013. The compact high segment hatchback received immediate fame, garnering a total of 10,000 bookings in just 20 days of launch.
Grand i10 receives a 1.2 liter Kappa 2 petrol engine with variable valve timings while its diesel engine is a three cylinder version of 1.4 CRDi also seen in the Hyundai i20. The first in its segment to receive rear air conditioning vents, the Grand i10 is priced from INR 4.29 lakhs to INR 6.41 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi). This pricing is lower by around INR 20,000-57,000 than rival Maruti Suzuki Swift as the Grand i10 is the company offering in a bid to topple Maruti Suzuki India Limited from the helm in the Indian car market.

Records 110,000 enquiries and 10,000 bookings within 20 days

With over 110,000 enquiries and over 10,000 bookings within 20 days, Grand has been well accepted by customers as a value proposition despite the adverse market conditions.
Post the launch of Grand in the Indian market, Hyundai has experienced a 55% rise in footfalls at dealerships across all regions and most dealerships are recording multiple enquires and test drive requests. The car has received impressive with over 70,000 test drive bookings already.

Indian customers have appreciated the highly advanced and frugal 2nd generation U2 CRDi diesel engine which is combination of optimum performance along with high fuel efficiency of 24 kmpl (ARAI). The U2 engine offers stress less acceleration in city and highway driving conditions along with low emission and NVH levels. The linear power delivery and flat torque over wide range of rpm’s ensure smooth and jerk free drive. Also the highly acclaimed all-aluminum 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine comes with Dual VTVT mechanism delivers optimum engine performance with best-in-class mileage of 18.9 kmpl (ARAI figure).
