Yet to go on sale in the UK, the new i10 features automatic climate control, heated leather steering wheel and cruise control with speed limiter provide bigger-car comfort, while safety features include standard-fitment stability control and six airbags. The European variant of i10 is slightly different than it’s Indian counterpart, which is more spacious at the rear.
Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO, Hyundai Motor UK, says: “We are tremendously proud that the New Generation Hyundai i10 has been crowned CarBuyer’s ‘Car of the Year’ for 2014. This is Hyundai’s second major CarBuyer win after the i30 received the same accolade in 2012. This award is a true testament to just how far the Hyundai brand has come in recent years.”
Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief, Auto Express and CarBuyer, said: “The Hyundai i10 is small in stature and huge in talent. It offers so much for such a small price with real big car attributes ? it’s well built, spacious and with loads of luxury kit on board. It makes you wonder why you ever need to pay more for a new car.”
