New SsangYong Rexton by Mahindra HSUV price of Rs.17.67 lakhs to Rs.19.67 lakhs kicks in new M&M premium sector

Mahindra & Mahindra have launched the new SsangYong Rexton along with Korean SsangYong Motor Company making share prices see an immediate jump by 0.3% at Rs.827.70 on Wednesday afternoon. M&M’s new Rexton joins the rank and file of Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Yeti, Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Endeavor which are all doing well in the Indian SUV segment in India.

2,500 SUVs are sold every month while sales of the Toyota Fortuner are the highest at 1,300 units per month. M&M have also ensured that pricing of Rexton is kept at a competitive level with prices of the RX 5 manual version at Rs.17.67 lakhs while that of the RX 7 variant slightly higher at Rs.19.67 lakhs. These prices are specially launched for the festive season and are likely to go upwards by the end of this year.

M&M Rexton possesses a 2.7 liter engine under its hood with is capable of 184 bhp power and 402 Nm torque for the automatic transmission version while the manual version offers 162 bhp and 340 Nm torque. The company has invested Rs.63 lakhs in tuning the Rexton for Indian consumption and the new SUV will be available from all Mahindra dealer showrooms while a separate area is demarcated for sales support for SsangYong vehicles.
