Toyota Motor Corporation along with Kirloskar Group, Toyota Kirloskar Motors is launching the premium luxury car Toyota Camry in Indian markets on the 24th of August 2012. Its launch has been confirmed by Toyota Kirloskar Motors who have been busy testing this luxury sedan on streets across the country in past few months. The new model will be assembled at the company plant in Bangalore.

Its launch has been confirmed by Deputy Managing Director, Sandeep Singh. Pricing will be competitive due to the fact that while earlier version was completely imported, the 2012 Camry is being assembled locally. The new 2012 Toyota Camry will have a new front grille with redesigned headlights.

Camry will be available only as a petrol options as on date and will possess a 2.5 liter, four cylinder Dual VVT-I petrol engine. It will produce 180 PS power and 230 Nm torque. Despite the fact that the new Camry is eagerly awaited, the fact that it will not be launched with a diesel variant is something that is expected to cause serious sales concerns specially in a country like India.
