New Volkswagen Golf GTI at Geneva International Motor Show 2013. The new GTI is fitted with a turbocharged petrol direct injection engine offering 220 PS while a Performance model is being offered for the first time with 230 PS which will be highly fuel efficient.
Fuel efficiency is pegged at 6.0 liters per 100 km which means an 18% fuel consumption improvement over the previous model. Both versions will offer 350 Nm torque and will while the former will have a top speed of 246 kmph, the Performance variant will be able to reach a top speed of 250 kmph. Acceleration from 0 to 100 will be achieved in 6.5 and 6.4 seconds respectively. Besides outstanding performance and economies, the two GTI models will also stand out where external and internal features are concerned.
Interiors are done up in sport seats with tartan patterns while the cabin is fitted with black roofliner and red ambient lighting. GTI is offered in Tornado Red, Black and Pure White while prices commence from €28,350 as order books opened on 5th March for bookings for Germany.
