The prototype crossover which was well camouflaged was caught without its guise during an exclusive photo shoot. A member belonging to the Dutch Volvo Forum spotted the crossover at its naked best, and the rest is history. The beefy compact crossover which in all probability is going to be christened XC40 during production stage is expected to top be showcased at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
From the photos we can arrive at a conclusion that this offering by Volvo will be a competitively priced off roader. What gives unique identity to the robustly designed crossover is the raised height, aesthetic rear and roof rails. Although Volvo has made its intent clear about introducing the new crossover in Europe, it should not come as a surprise if the company offers the crossover in the North American auto market.
