The long awaited movie based on 1976 F1 season has made its first airing at London’s Leicester Square on September 2, 2013. Set for official release on September 13 and to reach theaters everywhere on September 27, the film is directed by Ron Howard as he tells the story of rivals James Hunt and Niki Lauda as they battle it out at Fuji.
Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.’
The film is praised for bring to reality the on track action while special effects and efforts of the F1 community have been added for greater and authentic watching pleasure. Movie stars Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl also put in extra efforts to bring in a touch of realism while touring car ace Rob Austin is seen driving in the movie and also helped in sourcing many of the cars that are seen on the grid which are an accurate reproduction of the 1976 vehicles.
The story of Rush is based on the Formula 1 racing in the 1970s. Based on the true life story of love and rivalry between the English James Hunt (Hemsworth) and Austrian racer Niki Lauda (Bruhl), the film focuses on their lives on and off the track as both racers are willing to risk life and limb to become world champions in the sport.
