Being a historic moment for the company, you can expect Carlos Ghosn, President of Renault Nissan himself, to unveil their new Datsun car brand. With Datsun, Nissan will announce it’s arrival into the entry level segment. Besides launch in India, Nissan will be introducing Datsun brand of vehicles into countries such as Russia, Indonesia and South Africa.
The first Datsun car Codenamed K2 is expected to be based on Nissan Micra, but will be smaller in size. It will feature spacious interiors and a comfortable seating area for 4 adults. Price will be in the sub Rs 4 lakh bracket. Once launched, it will compete with the likes of Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and Spark and a large number of Maruti Suzuki vehicles in the small and compact range.
