Tata Innova and Mahindra Xylo have a keen contender in Nissan Evalia MPV which is expected to be launched in Indian markets on 25th September….
Evalia MPV will be BS4 compliant and will come with ABS, EBD, Engine immobilizer, brake assist and door ajar warning. Likely to fall in the Rs.7 to 9 lakh bracket, Evalia is already successfully launched in various countries across the globe and it is bring launched in India at a time when SUVs and MPVs are growing in importance.
To expand their reach in India, Nissan has announced the opening of a new dealership in Mumbai. Torrent Nissan has been opened at Andheri in Mumbai West. This spacious sales facility will occupy an area of 480 sq meters. Nissan has a dealer network of 68 outlets catering to Indian customer’s demands. Torrent Nissan is the company’s third exclusive dealership in Mumbai with two others based in Worli and Navi Mumbai. This week, Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) also announced Lavanya Wadgaonkar Corporate Communications Head, Nissan India.

Torrent Nissan in Mumbai to contribute to a larger strategic plan and wider sales to expand Nissan’s print in India
Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd today announced the launch of a new dealer outlet in Mumbai, Torrent Nissan. The outlet was inaugurated today by Mr. G.M.Singh, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Hover Automotive India.
Torrent Nissan is a spacious sales and service facility covering 480 sq.mt and is conveniently located at a prime location in Andheri (West).
At the opening of the dealership, Mr. Singh said “With newer models which are slated for launch this year, we are gearing up for wider sales and mass support to all our customers who believe in Nissan’s innovation and excitement philosophy.”

In a bid to increase its dealership presence across India and accelerate growth, Nissan has signed a sole and exclusive distribution agreement with Hover Automotive India, which will act as Nissan’s national sales company. It will be the service partner for marketing, sales, after-sales service and dealer development in India.
Nissan has an existing dealer network of over 68 outlets. Torrent Nissan is the third exclusive Nissan dealership in Maharashtra. The earlier two are in Worli and Navi Mumbai respectively.
NISSAN NAMES LAVANYA WADGAONKAR COMMUNICATIONS HEAD IN INDIA
Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) announced the appointment of Dr. Lavanya Wadgaonkar as head, corporate communications, Nissan India, as the company continues its business growth in the country.
Lavanya will report to Takayuki Ishida, managing director & chief executive officer, Nissan India, and Matthew de la Haye, Vice President Communications, Africa, Middle East, India and Europe.
As Nissan continues to experience rapid growth in India, Lavanya will lead communications and brand building efforts for the company.
“We are happy to welcome Lavanya to Nissan. We are sure that her wealth of communications experience will help us achieve our growth targets in India. India is an important engine of growth in the region, and Lavanya’s communications leadership will help us tell our story of expansion and investment,” said Mr. Ishida.
Prior to joining Nissan, Lavanya has worked as general manager and head of public affairs and corporate marketing for Eaton India, a diversified power management company. In her role, she was responsible for building the Eaton brand across multiple markets in India.
Lavanya holds a PhD and MPhil from Osmania University. She has post graduate degrees in English and Journalism. In addition to her corporate experience, Lavanya has been a columnist, film critic, and a radio compere. She is an award winning script writer and published author.
